Two people are lucky to have escape uninjured in a vehicle rollover crash that took place on Highway 12 just south of Airport Road in Lillooet. The incident happened on December 26 at 9:30 am.
Police located a pickup truck that had gone off the road down a steep embankment and come to rest against a tree. The vehicle occupants were shaken but uninjured in the accident. The driver told police the truck came to rest against the tree, and a large boulder landed on the truck cab and then crashed into the bed of the truck. The roads were very slick with ice, snow, and slush that day and alcohol is not suspected in the crash.
BC Hydro was called to repair a downed pole that was partially obstructing the roadway. Lillooet RCMP is thanking BC Ambulance, Lillooet Fire Dept, and Lillooet Rescue and others who came to assist. The matter has now been referred to ICBC.
