Staff report
January 9, 2023 7:21am

The Squamish Community Foundation is now accepting applications for Government of Canada’s Community Services Recovery Fund.

Funding will enable organizations to invest in their organizational capacity and improve the efficacy, accessibility, and sustainability of the community services they provide. In collaboration with Community Foundations of Canada, the Canadian Red Cross and United Way, the Squamish Community Foundation is proud to be one of the participating foundations to distribute funding.

Within Squamish, the SCF is administering $155,000 specifically for one-time projects with the focus on Investing in Systems and Processes.

Some examples of projects under this stream include: Investment in contact management systems; Implementation of a new communications plan; Enhancement of a new accounting system; Development, implementation, or adaptation of a new fundraising strategy, and; A governance review through the lens of organizational resilience.

Applications will be accepted from January 6 – February 21, 2023. For more information about this fund, contact kclarke@squamishfoundation.com or 604-848-8683. To apply, visit: www.communityservicesrecoveryfund.ca

The Community Services Recovery Fund (CSRF) is a one-time investment of $400 million that will help charities and non-profits acquire the tools they need to adapt and modernize so they can better support pandemic recovery in communities across Canada.

“Our charities and non-profits are at the forefront of addressing our community’s needs, but many of them are struggling to recover from the pandemic and adapt to changing needs of the Squamish community. With increasing demands for services and the rising cost of living, this funding is needed now more than ever,” said Suzie Soman, Board Chair, SCF.
