District of Squamish has launched a transportation survey and provided a mapping tool so residents can pinpoint specific transportation issues and challenges in the community.
Residents can use the mapping tool to highlight any transportation issues, challenges, or barriers they are aware of the community. Separate pins are provided on the mapping tool for walking, cycling, vehicle, and transportation related issues.
District is expected to create a draft Transportation Master Plan by the fall of 2023, and finalize it by the winter. With the public survey, District aims to understand how to improve access to transportation choices by providing:
Safe and comfortable active transportation networks for people who walk, wheel, and cycle;
An accessible, affordable, and efficient transit system; and
Appropriate road network improvements with a focus on safety and connectivity.
When the Plan is complete the District will have an updated list of recommended transportation infrastructure improvements and a plan to complete these capital projects.
