Police look for man who offered to buy 3-year-old girl in Victoria

staff report
March 10, 2023 1:27pm

Police in Victoria are asking for public’s help in identifying a person of interest in a disturbing incident. On March 1, just after 3 pm, a father was entering a retail outlet in the 1600-block of Hillside Avenue with his 3-year-old daughter when he was approached by a suspicious man.

The man asked the father if he wanted to sell his child and offered to give him money. The father felt threatened by the man and reported the incident to Victoria Police that evening. The suspicious man is described as Caucasian, in his 70’s, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall with a heavy build, balding with a shortly-clipped haircut and possibly wearing glasses.

Anyone with information about this incident can call the police at (250) 995-7654 extension 1.
