District of Squamish has issued a notice of tree removal that begins today at Brennan Park Recreation Centre.
Work will be underway on Monday, April 3 between 8 am and 4 pm to remove trees on Centennial Way. This work is expected to take 4 to 5 days and will be monitored closely by District of Squamish Environmental Staff and an Independent Environmental contractor. District didn’t say why the trees need to be removed.
However, District said some Western Red Cedars located within the tree cutting area will be preserved and replanted along the northeast side of Centennial Way. A buffer of deciduous and large conifers along the southwest side will also remain, the notice states.
District is urging residents to obey all signs and use caution in the area and to not enter the work zone at any time.
