West Van family avoids serious injury after confronting robbery suspect in kitchen

A family in West Vancouver avoided serious injury as they confronted a burglary suspect in their kitchen. Police says a serious injury was avoided in a ‘frightening encounter’ between a family and the suspect. Early this week, residents of a Cedardale home were shocked to find a suspect in their kitchen early morning.

They immediately called 911 and officers were on scene in minutes to help the homeowner who had overpowered the suspect. A 52-year-old Vancouver man was arrested and West Vancouver Police Department’s victim services is working to support the residents. Police continues to investigate the terrifying incident.
