The Squamish Search and Rescue is inviting community members to join them for a closer look at what it takes to pull off a mountain bike rescue. Tickets are by donation.
Subject to weather and number of participants, the event will take place at 42000 Loggers Lane on Wednesday, June 7, at 7 pm. Attendees can expect presentations from Search and Rescue members on understanding common mountain bike injuries, basic first aid techniques and importance of proper gear and equipment. SAR crews will also offer safety tips and how to help yourself or a riding partner in the event of an injury. There will also be an interactive demonstrations, where residents can get hands-on experience with rescue and extrication equipment.
Expericed SAR team memebers invite the community to bring their questions and guidance will be provided on how to avoid mountain bike accidents. The event is designed to be inclusive and engaging for participants of all ages and skill levels. Tickets are by donation. Whether you are an experienced rider or simply interested in learning about mountain biking rescues, this session is for you.
Please note that parts of this session will be held outside and closed-toe footwear is required along with wind and rain gear.
