Bosa-Kingswood Properties wants council to approve 442 additional homes than they were approved for at the Waterfront Landing project, marketed as SeaANDSky development. The development is located at the former Interfor mill site, across from Downtown Squamish, on the east side of Mamquam Blind Channel.
The District of Squamish has received an application for an Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw Amendment, which the council will discuss at a Committee of the Whole meeting today. If approved by council, the amendments will allow 442 more units than were previously approved on the southern portion of the property.
This is more than units Bosa-Kingswood were asking for in February this year, according to this article from the Squamish Chief newspaper.

The District had earlier approved 997 homes for both north and south sides of the Waterfront Landing project. The new ask by the developer would allow 960 units on the south side alone, an increase of 442 units. Of these 960 homes, about 860 homes will be sold at market prices, while 75 units will be market rentals and 25 affordable rentals.
An approval by council for the additional units would mean a total of 1,439 homes.
The developers are offering an increase of 1.45 hectares of park land, achieved by the reduction of individual townhouse driveways and strata lanes, notes a staff report to council. District of Squamish staff are supportive of the increase in park land. The park will also feature newly restored foreshore areas and a public kayak launch as well as a nature play area and a kids play area.
Also proposed is a more active marine village with plaza that will provide a gathering space with opportunities for programing and events and access to marine related recreation, waterfront trails and boardwalks, the developers say. The proposal also includes habitat restoration and a proposal for public water access. The developers plan to provide an extra 25 affordable housing units for a total of 100 affordable housing units, park and additional trails.
