The baby who was dragged by a car for two blocks in a shocking hit-and-run in Downtown Squamish is reportedly doing well and is back with his mother. A GoFundMe has been launched for the family injured in the accident in Downtown Squamish.

“Baby Quinn, a complete miracle, is doing well and has suffered bruising. He is safely back in his mom’s care,” says Courtney Campbell-Leveck, a family friend organizing the GoFundMe.

The baby’s mother Sara, Quinn and the grandmother Carolyn were walking across the crosswalk with their other family members in downtown Squamish when they were struck by a car. Quinn’s grandmother suffered head injuries but is recovering in the hospital. All three are from Ontario and were visiting family in Squamish. “Please help donate to Baby Quinn and Carolyn’s recovery and support and show our love and care for Sara and Grandpa through this time,” Courtney said.

At approximately 8:30 pm on April 23, Sea to Sky RCMP-Squamish received numerous calls about a vehicle that struck a pedestrian and a baby in a stroller at a crosswalk in Pemberton Ave and Second Ave in Downtown Squamish.  The vehicle fled the scene and was approximately found two blocks away. The driver was arrested.

Police are seeking dashcam footage of the accident. Please call the Squamish RCMP if you have dashcams or doorbell/home security cameras in the area of Second Avenue/Pemberton Avenue to Fourth Avenue/Winnipeg Avenue between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Anyone who witnessed the incident and has not spoken to police should call the Sea to Sky RCMP-Squamish at 604-892-6100.
