This spring, we invite you to get active on behalf of the Sea to Sky Hospice Society and participate in the 18th Annual Hike for Hospice event.
We encourage you to create a fundraising team and collect donations for our programs and services. You are invited to join us on Saturday, May 25, at the O’Siyam Pavilion & Junction Park to celebrate a spring of fundraising for the Sea to Sky Hospice Society.
We invite you to hike, bike, golf, run, do yoga, dance, or whatever moves you to get active for hospice and make a difference!
Throughout May, you can make an individual donation, gather a team, or build your own fundraising page that you can share with your friends and family. Post photos of your commitment and support to your social media pages using the hash tag #hikeforhospice or #seatoskyshospicesociety. Please help us reach our goal of raising $75,000 for our community by showing your support and joining the fun, all in the name of hospice.
There are many reasons for participating, but the cause is important. Many of us have experienced the invaluable services of our Whistler Blackcomb Foundation Sea to Sky Hospice through family members and friends. Many others work in the healthcare field and witness the crucial need for the additional support the Sea to Sky Hospice Society provides daily. We commit to giving our time, energy, and connections because we firmly believe that the Hospice Society is a critical support in our community.
There are those who have pledged to walk a certain distance each day, and those who dance through their fundraising. Some of us reach out in person and some through social media. We ask our family, our friends, and colleagues to donate or to join us in the fundraising. The ask is easy because we know we are making a difference in the lives of people from Lions Bay to north of Mt. Currie – our services are available throughout the corridor. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, is a vital part of this collective effort.
Whether you can hike or just get your fingers on the keyboard to do your walking, the Sea to Sky Hospice Society needs your support in this vital campaign. We hope you will join us.
Leslie de Bie is the executive director, and Muff Hackett is the board chair of the Sea to Sky Hospice Society.
