Police seek info about break-and-enter

staff report
June 7, 2024 7:59am

The Lillooet RCMP is investigating a break-and-enter and seeking more information about it from the community.

On June 3, 2024 a man reported that, when he was returning to his residence on Russell Lane in Lillooet around 4:30 am earlier in the day, he saw a man leaving his apartment.

He attempted to chase the man down, whom he described as being a 6’2 Caucasian man wearing a facemask and a hoodie with a red coat. Several items were taken from his residence, including a Toshiba laptop.

There were no security cameras in the area, and there were no other witnesses. He reported the incident to the police as he was advised by his landlord to do so. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Lillooet RCMP; please reference Lillooet-Lytton RCMP file 2024-1095.

Grocery store theft

On May 22, a local grocery store in Lillooet reported a woman had stolen a full grocery cart of items. The business reported the woman was seen going into a red hatchback from the video surveillance. The vehicle was located by Lillooet RCMP at a residence in town, however the woman was not present. The incident is currently under investigation.

On June 2, 2024 a man came to the Lillooet RCMP detachment and reported that he was hit by a vehicle at a parking stall by Conway Park.

He said he was facing his own vehicle when his knee buckled as a vehicle pulling into the parking spot next to him made contact with him. Police spoke with the alleged driver who denied making contact with the man with her vehicle.
