Squamish Flying Club to host ‘Discover Aviation Day’ this Saturday

staff report
June 13, 2024 6:40am

The Squamish Flying Club is set to host a “Discover Aviation Day” at the Squamish Airport/Don Patrick Field to spark an interest in aviation among children aged 8 to 18.

This exciting event will feature various activities designed to introduce young participants to the world of aviation. A highlight of the day will be a limited number of free flights for children, offered on a first-come, first-served basis. As the event is weather-dependent, organizers advise checking for updates regularly.

Attendees can look forward to:

  • Displays of helicopters and planes
  • Balsa plane-building workshops
  • Face painting
  • Opportunities to meet and greet pilots
  • Food provided by the Lions Club

The event is free to attend, courtesy of the Squamish Flying Club and the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA). For more information, contact events@squamishflyingclub.com.
