Squamish Arts announces return of ‘Amped in the Park’ from June 27

staff report
June 24, 2024 12:25pm

Squamish Arts has announced the return of its annual Amped in the Park programme, set every Thursday from 27 June to 15 August, between 7 and 9 pm. The event will be hosted at Junction Park, transforming it into a vibrant hub of music and performance, perfect for community gatherings to celebrate the summer season.

Now in its seventh year, Amped in the Park has attracted residents of all ages and backgrounds. The programme highlights local talent, mainly focusing on young artists, and features a diverse range of musical genres including rock, folk, and jazz, Squamish Arts said in a press release.

“Squamish Arts is thrilled to provide this platform for performers to hone their craft before an appreciative audience,” stated Clea Young, Executive Director of Squamish Arts. “Audiences can expect to hear from local favourites and newcomers, some of whom will be performing on stage for the first time.”  Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and picnics to enjoy the long summer evenings fully.

Squamish Arts notes that the success of Amped in the Park is made possible through the generous support of volunteers and community partners, whose dedication to arts and culture fosters the community’s vitality and growth.
