Two climbers were taken to hospital after sustaining ‘significant injuries’ in a rock fall incident on the Stawamus Chief. In a brief press release, Squamish RCMP said it received a report of a rock fall near the Stawamus Chief on August 14.

“It was reported that two climbers received significant injuries and would need assistance getting off the rock face,” Squamish RCMP said. Emergency crews responded to the incident and successfully rescued the climbers from the rock face. The climbers were transported to the hospital by BC Emergency Health Services.

“We would like to thank the public and all the first responders for helping the injured climbers,” said Cpl. Brett Urano of BC RCMP.
