Knife-wielding suspects assault police officer at Park Royal after $13,000 theft at Lululemon

A police officer was assaulted and threatened with a knife during the arrest of two people who were caught stealing $13,000 worth of merchandise from Lululemon.

In a press release, the West Vancouver Police Department said it increased its presence after requests from community members and business owners.

On August 30, 2024, a plainclothes officer observed a man and woman in disguises carrying large, empty bags into the Lululemon store at Park Royal Village South. The pair were caught stealing about $13,000 worth of merchandise before leaving the store. During the arrest attempt, the officer was assaulted and threatened with a knife as the suspects fled. Additional police units arrived, leading to the successful arrest of both suspects.

On August 31, 2024, Breanne Leigh Erickson, 34, was charged with three offences: Theft over $5,000 (section 334(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada), Willfully Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer (section 129(a)), and Disguising Face with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence (section 351(2)).

On the same day, Jordan Michael Cishecki, 29, was charged with four offences: Theft over $5,000 (section 334(a)), Disguising Face with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence (section 351(2)), Uttering Threats (section 264.1(1)), and Assaulting a Peace Officer (section 270(1)).
