The District’s Advisory Design Panel will review a development permit application for an industrial building at 39580 Queens Way in the Business Park.  The application by Andrew Sheret Limited proposes a 5,046-square-foot warehouse, showroom, office space, and a caretaker suite, as well as two smaller industrial units with mezzanine levels.

Andrew Sheret Limited, a Victoria-based company, has operated for over 135 years. It distributes plumbing, heating, air conditioning, water filtration, and other products. Its retail division, Splashes Bath & Kitchen, includes 28 locations with showrooms close to the wholesale operations.

The proposed site spans 1.725 hectares at the northeast corner of Queens Way and Pioneer Way, with Aspen Road to the north. The empty lot is close to the District-owned lift station. The developer is proposing 56 parking spaces and 12 bicycle parking spaces.  The project also includes five loading spaces, which exceeds bylaw requirements.

Staff request input from the Advisory Design Panel (ADP) on site plan, design, building materials to be used and landscape plans.  This is the first time the project has been brought before the ADP. The design panel will discuss the project on January 16.
