Wildfire burning ‘Out of Control’ in Squamish

staff report
June 9, 2025 5:06pm

A wildfire has been reported burning out of control near the Skyridge development in Squamish.

The blaze, listed as Fire Number V30558, was discovered on June 9 and is currently estimated at 0.009 hectares. It is classified as “Out of Control” by the BC Wildfire Service, meaning it is spreading or is expected to spread beyond containment lines.

The fire falls under the Coastal Fire Centre and remains under investigation. Authorities say wildfire investigations can be complex and may involve multiple agencies, including the BC Wildfire Service, RCMP, and others.

This is a developing story….
