According to an update by the District of Squamish, multiple agencies are involved in the response, with BC Wildfire Service increasing its crew to 50 personnel. Twenty members from Squamish Fire Rescue and four from Whistler Fire Rescue are also on the ground. The focus remains on protecting structures and critical infrastructure near the fire perimeter.
Recreation trails near the fire are temporarily closed. While Alice Lake Provincial Park remains open, the south beach parking lot is closed to support wildfire operations. Residents are being asked to conserve water and to avoid using sprinklers unless fire crews have installed them. Drone use is strictly prohibited, and a campfire ban and State of Local Emergency remain in place.
An Evacuation Alert is still active for properties at the east end of Depot Road, parts of Tantalus Road, and the Skyridge subdivision. No evacuations have been ordered, but RCMP officers are conducting door-to-door visits to keep residents informed. The public is being urged to stay away from the area to avoid interfering with suppression efforts.
