Staff report
September 22, 2025 10:11am

Filming will take place along Government Road in Squamish on Monday, September 23, and from Monday, September 29, to Thursday, October 2. Scenes will include simulated firearms, uniformed actors, and vehicles resembling SWAT teams.

According to the District of Squamish, the filming area will stretch between the Spit Road entrance and the Train Museum, including some private properties. Squamish RCMP will be on site during scenes involving firearms to ensure public safety.

Traffic impacts include closures of up to three minutes on September 23 between the Railway Museum and just south of the Spit Road entrance. Closures of the same duration are expected on September 30 and October 1 from the Railway Museum to 39586 Government Road.

All required permits have been issued, with permissions granted by private property owners, Squamish Nation, and Crown Land authorities for areas of Government Road outside District ownership.

Infrastructure Upgrades Continue Across Squamish

Residents can also expect ongoing infrastructure work across the community. Installation work on the watermain near Bill’s Place will resume on September 22. Work continues on the sanitary lift station rehabilitation on Pia Road, the watermain upgrade on Birken Road, and the Xwu’nekw Park Sea Dike upgrades.

Other projects include culvert replacement at the Skyline Drive hairpin turn, the Garibaldi Cemetery expansion, installation of a new transit shelter on Discovery Way, and EV charging station work at Brennan Park.

On Victoria Street, active transportation upgrades continue between Cleveland Avenue and Loggers Lane. Storm sewer lining will take place on September 23 and 24, with temporary closures of the Squamish River Dike and Riverside Trail expected during work hours. The Loggers East Storm Sewer project also continues.

Crosswalk and safety upgrades are underway at Government Road beside Watershed Grill, Buckley Avenue at Dentville Park, and two locations on Queens Way — at Resolution Way and between Commercial Way and Pioneer Way.

More details on ongoing projects can be found here.
