A GoFundMe campaign is underway to raise funds for transporting the body of 22-year-old Robin Singh Buttar from Vancouver to his home in India.

According to the fundraiser, Robin was involved in a serious bike accident on the Sea to Sky Highway near Squamish on September 23, 2025. He was hospitalized in Vancouver General Hospital with severe brain injuries, where he died on September 27 in the ICU.

Robin came to Canada in 2022 as an international student.  The campaign aims to transport Buttar’s body back to India to help his family perform his last rites. As of October 2, the campaign has raised $27,230 from 455 donors, with a goal of $30,000.

“No contribution is too small,” the campaign message states. “Every donation, every prayer, and every kind word will make a difference.”
