Tourism Squamish launches 2025 survey to gather resident feedback

Staff Report
October 8, 2025 12:48pm

Tourism Squamish is inviting residents to take part in its 2025 Resident Sentiment Survey to provide feedback on the benefits and challenges of tourism in the community.

The survey results will guide future destination planning, including stewardship programs and initiatives like the Red Bag Program, which helps keep local green spaces litter-free.

“Community input is essential to maintaining the social licence to share Squamish with the world,” Lesley Weeks, executive director of Tourism Squamish, said in a press release. “By listening to residents, we ensure tourism initiatives align with community values while supporting local businesses and protecting our natural spaces.”

Past surveys have consistently shown strong support for tourism’s economic impact, with 86 percent of respondents in 2022 highlighting its benefits. At the same time, challenges such as traffic, parking, and pressures on natural areas were also noted.

Tourism Squamish is partnering with Politikos Research to conduct the 2025 survey, building on feedback from the 2021 and 2022 editions. The survey is anonymous, takes approximately 5–8 minutes to complete, and participants have the opportunity to enter to win one of 10 local tourism prizes.

Residents can complete the survey online through Tourism Squamish’s website.
