The session, held in the library’s Community Meeting Room, is designed to help residents understand the essentials of preparing a will, making informed financial decisions, and ensuring that personal wishes are respected. According to organizers, estate planning is important for individuals at any stage of life, providing clarity and peace of mind for families and loved ones.

Presenters Eddie Carter of Race & Co and James Sparling of Vocari Financial Solutions will introduce key topics such as the basics of estate planning and the tax benefits of charitable giving.

“Talking about wills and estate planning can feel overwhelming, but it’s one of the most meaningful gifts we can give to our families,” said Chris Wrightson, Executive Director of the Sea to Sky Hospice Society. “This workshop will help you take the first step and make the process less intimidating.”

Karen Clarke, Executive Director of the Squamish Community Foundation, added that estate planning “isn’t only about assets — it’s about leaving a legacy and supporting the causes and communities that matter most to you.”

The event is free, but registration is required.
