A vehicle that plunged into the Squamish River earlier this year has been recovered, though one passenger remains unaccounted for, police say. Sea to Sky RCMP’s General Investigation Section (GIS) confirmed that the vehicle involved in the single-vehicle crash on June 14, 2025, was recovered on Saturday, October 18.
At the time of the crash, four people were inside the vehicle. Three have since been accounted for, while one passenger remains missing, Squamish RCMP said in a press release.
According to police, the recovery effort was a joint operation involving Squamish Search and Rescue and the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team. Investigators said the teams closely monitored river levels for months before successfully locating and retrieving the submerged vehicle under difficult conditions.
Sea to Sky GIS continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. No further information is being released at this time.
