Squamish will celebrate its world-class cyclists next month with Raised by the Trails, a free community event recognizing local riders who have represented Canada on the international stage, Tourism Squamish said in a news release.

The event will take place on Sunday, November 2, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Squamish BMX Track, co-hosted by Tourism Squamish, SORCA, Squamish BMX, and BMX Alumni.

Local emcee Todd Pope will introduce each athlete from the start gate, highlighting their achievements before they complete a recognition lap in front of family, friends, and fans. The afternoon will also feature a community lap, photo opportunities, and a poster signing session.

More than a dozen elite riders have RSVP’d, including 2025 World Cup Champions Elly Hoskin and Jackson Goldstone, the release said.

“Our trails have shaped some of the best riders in the world,” said Lesley Weeks, Executive Director of Tourism Squamish. “Raised by the Trails is about celebrating that success and reminding young local riders that these incredible athletes all started right here in Squamish.”

Ian Lowe, Executive Director of SORCA, said the event reflects the dedication of volunteers and builders who maintain Squamish’s trail network. “Seeing our local riders succeed on the global stage is a reflection of the hard work of our volunteers, trail crew, contractors and the passionate culture of the Squamish riding community,” he said.

Vairdy Frail, President of Squamish BMX, added that the event celebrates the growth of riders at every level. “Events like Raised by the Trails celebrate that journey and inspire the next generation of riders,” she said.

The event is open to all community members, who are encouraged to attend and show their support for local athletes and the organizations that helped develop Squamish’s thriving cycling culture.
