Squamish RCMP have concluded their investigation into a December landslide and determined there are no grounds to pursue criminal charges. The slide struck the Magnesia Creek bridge near the Brunswick Road exit on Dec. 14, 2024, blocking both northbound and southbound lanes.
It claimed the life of local residents, Barbara and David Enns, whose home was hit by the landslide.
The Sea to Sky General Investigation Section took over the case and brought in industry experts to examine the circumstances of the slide. After reviewing all available evidence and consulting specialists, investigators found no evidence to support criminal charges.
“Our investigation into this tragic incident has been completed,” Sgt. Jeff Shore, the section’s officer in charge, said in a statement. “Our thoughts remain with the family, who have endured so much throughout this tragedy.”
Shore also thanked partner agencies and community members for their cooperation during the investigation. RCMP said no further information will be released.
