Parent Ambassadors

Howe Sound Secondary School is looking for parents who want to volunteer as Parent Ambassadors.

Parent Ambassadors would be a dedicated group of parents who will be responsible for contacting 8 – 10 other parents in their child’s grade level for approximately four times throughout the school year.

Howe Sound Secondary School principle Christine Perkins said Parent Ambassadors build positive links and effective communication between parents, students, staff and our community.

Perkins said parents often move away from direct involvement with the students in secondary schools.

“This is a fun, informative way for them to remain actively involved that does not take up a lot of time but remains quite social in practice.

There will be two to three one-hour training sessions per year led by Howe Sound Administration and a year-end dinner.

Perkins said the program is for those parents who want to be “in the know” about what is happening with their children’s education.

We would like to get the program up and running prior to the next school year.

The first meeting will take place after spring break.
