Kevin Ramsay Was Appointed SODC Special Advisor in March

Squamish council appointed Kevin Ramsay as a special advisor to the Squamish Oceanfront Development Corporation board.

He was appointed at a March 13, in-camera, meeting of the council. He was appointed as an ex-officio, non-voting member of the board, as a board liaison.

Now that he is retired, the council will have to find a replacement, said Coun. Heintzman.

His appointment came to light as the district revealed a few in-camera items at the regular council meeting on Tues, May 15.

At the same meeting, the council decided not to change the SODC board composition.

The District has also request records of all minutes from the Squamish Oceanfront Development Corporation dating from June 2011.

Council had directed the SODC to retain the best possible real-estate and marketing firm to immediately market the SODC lands with the goal of eliminating District risk and expediting the site development.

The detailed marketing and disposition approach would be determined at a later date, and in consultation with the real-estate and marketing firm.

Editor’s Note: An earlier version of the article missed on Heintzman’s comments about finding a replacement. The error is regretted.

Who’s interests will he represent, the SODC, DOS, or potential developer.
If the SODC is arms length seperate entity of DOS.And Mr Ramsey now works for another community, why is this position created or needed.
