More Rock Scaling on the Chief June 4 and 5

More rock scaling work will be done on the Stawamus Chief June 4 and 5, 2015 in the vicinity of the rock fall that occurred in the Angel’s Crest area.

The public is asked to observe all trail closures and to stay away from the area until further notice. Expect short controlled road closures on the Mamquam Forest Service Road.

As much as 1400 cubic metres of rock fell from North Wall area of the Chief on April 19. Global Rock Works was hired for rock scaling, removing loose surface material presenting a rockfall hazard, usually with pry-bars and picks and on rope system.
