Here is a once in a life time opportunity to own one of Squamish’s most iconic establishment. The Brackendale Art Gallery has been listed for sale for $2.7 million by local realtor Tara Hunter.

According to the listing featured on Hunter’s website: “As the Sea to Sky corridor continues to grab more attention, now would be the ideal time to bring this thriving enterprise to its next level.  From the moment you step into the Gallery you enter into apart of Squamish’s history.  The unique architectural design is evident throughout the main building and several other free standing structures on the property.

The listing continues: “The present uses include gallery store, dining and theater, art studio, yoga studio, eagle conservatory and chapel.  Commercial kitchen, pantries, wine cellars and storage.  Theatre has sound room, green room and accommodations for performers or artists to be in residence along with 5 residential suites.  Call Tara for further information on this property.”

The  owner and founder of the art gallery, Thor Froslev, was not available for comment.

While I do wish for a successful sale with respect to the owners needs, this will be a great loss to us all. considering how it was conceived, and so well run by the Froslevs.

The unique stamp of character they put upon it canl never be replaced. It is a work of art and the owner/artists are essentially part of it.
