Squamish Arts Council opens grant applications

January 28, 2018 4:26pm

The Squamish Arts Council has opened grant applications for the Community Arts & Culture Enhancement Grant. The application deadline is March 7, 2018.

The Squamish Arts Council has partnered with the District of Squamish to distribute funds dedicated to enhancing arts and culture in Squamish since 2010.

The 2018 Community Arts & Culture Enhancement fund is a total of $20,000. This year there are two streams in which applicants can apply to: Community Initiatives and member group grants. Both program streams have specific eligibility criteria and separate application forms.

The council is asking the applicants to review the guidelines to know which stream you should be applying for. More details on the program streams, application forms, and guidelines can be found at www.squamishartscouncil.com/grants

Past recipients of the CACEG developed project proposals that maximized involvement in arts and culture and provided enhancement to the community of Squamish.

A list of past grant recipients can also be found on www.squamishartscouncil.com All grant applications are assessed by a volunteer committee made up of three SAC board members and four members of the community. Applications are judged amongst equally qualified applications and projects.

Projects are assessed on how well they meet the CACEG objectives and marking rubric provided in the application. The intention of the grant is to foster community involvement in the arts sector and inspire innovative ways to provide enhancement to Squamish through arts and culture.
