Wildfire near Valleycliffe, Crumpit Woods under control: District of Squamish

A small wildfire reported overnight near Valleycliffe and Crumpit Woods is now under control, according to the District of Squamish.

The fire was visible and reported from some areas of Valleycliffe and Crumpit Woods at 0.009 hectares in size, and was initially classified as being held. A BC Wildfire Service crew responded to put it under control while the Squamish Fire Rescue maintained contact with BCWS, according to the news release.

In an update issued at 3:15 p.m., the fire had been reclassified as under control. The news release also said two fires reported the previous day north of Squamish, west of Highway 99 near the salt sheds, were under control, while a third fire further south was being held.
