Downtown Squamish gets a new summer event

February 6, 2018 11:53am

An exciting brand-new event is coming to town this summer. The Squamish Street Market is setting up shop over three blocks and two parks in the heart of downtown Squamish for four Sundays, once a month from June to
September 2018.

There will be up to fifty street vendors, ten food trucks, Kid Zone, music, entertainment, contests and locally sponsored craft- beer garden.

A Taste of Squamish Theme Park will showcase the best of Squamish’s emerging craft-beverages, food scene and heart- pumping activities as well as a Real Estate and Development Showcase for those interested in getting a foot into the residential or commercial market.

“Squamish is world renowned for it’s abundant opportunities in outdoor recreation and natural beauty. However, we need to develop our arts and culture scene” says Lesley Weeks, Executive Director of Tourism Squamish.

“We support the Squamish Street Market as an initiative to create a more robust experience for visitors; from the adrenaline driven to the culturally and culinarily inclined. We are also excited about the prospect of having something more to offer visitors on a Sunday in the downtown area.”

The first Squamish Street Market will kick off on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17th at 8 am with a Lions Pancake Breakfast at Cleveland Avenue and Victoria Street. The following Squamish Street Market events will take place Sunday, July 15, August 12 and September 16 from 10 am- 6 pm.

Attending these events is free to the public.

The Squamish Street Market is currently accepting registration for vendors, food trucks, and sponsors. For more information or to register, please visit www.squamishstreetmarket.com.

    EXCELLENT!
Let us hope that this great idea will not stir up some of our usual negative “trolls”.
