Squamish RCMP are investigating after a local car company informed police about disabled brakes on a car that had come for inspection. On Monday, April 9, Squamish RCMP were notified by a car service company about a car that come in for an inspection.
The owner had some concern with the braking system. On closer inspection, the mechanic found out that the brake lined to the vehicle had been cut. The owner told the police the vehicle was parked the previous evening at a residence in Dentville. The police is investigating.
MOUNTAIN BIKE FOUND IN ESTUARY
On Tuesday, April 10th, a Squamish resident came to the local RCMP detachment to turn in a bike they had found at the Estuary. The bike is described as an Orange Specialized Rockhopper.
CAR FIRE AT ALICE LAKE PARKING LOT
On Saturday, April 14, at approximately 3 p.m. Squamish RCMP were notified of a vehicle on fire in the parking lot at Alice Lake. A Volkswagen had appeared to catch fire due to electrical issues whilst the owners were hiking in the area. Squamish Fire attended to put the fire out.
MAILBOX BROKEN INTO ON WILLOW CRESCENT
On Thursday, April 12, Squamish RCMP were alerted to an insecure mailbox in Wilson Crescent. Members attended and located a mailbox system which was either broken into or secured improperly. All mail that remained was removed by Police for safekeeping.
VEHICLES BROKEN INTO IN THE HIGHLANDS
On Monday, April 9, two vehicles were broken into on Pia Road and Rhum and Eigg Drive overnight. Both vehicles were believed to have been left unlocked and a wallet, first aid kit, and a flashlight were reported missing. The wallet missing is described as a brown wallet with an Eagle on the front
