Jaye Russell is the new executive director for Sea to Sky Community Services

June 11, 2018 6:17am
Wynne passes on the SSCS torch to the new executive director, Jay Russell.

The Sea to Sky Community Services has a new executive director.

Jaye Russell joined SSCS as the new executive director in early May to provide a comfortable hand-over period with Lois Wynne.

Russell has over 15 years of experience providing leadership and innovation to local communities facing complex social issues.

She has held senior positions at the City of Calgary and the Calgary Homeless Foundation, the Vancouver Aquarium and the City of Vancouver.

“These are extraordinary shoes to fill, and I am grateful to have this past month with Lois to provide history and insight,”Russell said.

“I am very happy to be here and look forward to working with the SSCS team, our board of directors, partners and the community.”

Meanwhile, the community and personnel at Sea to Sky Community Services Society (SSCS) gave a ‘fond farewell and best wishes in your retirement’ to Lois Wynne after 32 years at the helm of SSCS.

One of Lois’s proudest moments was the opening of the new Centrepoint building.  Through the generosity and foresight of the Squamish United Church, a partnership was formed to development the downtown church property to include a new sanctuary for Squamish United and a new building for SSCS.

“Thank you to everyone for 32 years of amazing work. It has been a pleasure to be part of the growth of SSCS in the corridor.” said Lois Wynne.
