Razi has been found, thanks to Squamish and particularly to Valley Calderoni of Canine Valley.

James and Emma from Bend, Oregon, had extended their stay in Squamish to find Razi, their seven-year-old Anatolian Shephard, who has a heart condition.

The story of Razi touched a nerve with Squamish. The original Squamish Reporter story about Razi being lost has been shared 3,700 times on Facebook.

Valley Calderoni of Canine Valley found Razi in 20 minutes.

An elated James Moro said Razi was found last evening by Valley and her team. He was found around 9 pm. Moro said Razi was a bit stressed out but he was happy to see them.

Moro said he was amazed that Valley was able to find him in 20 minutes, especially after aborted attempts by numerous search parties with dogs, hikers, and even people who have helped them with drones and thermal cameras.

Moro said he was extremely grateful to the town for the support

“We want every single person that even offered to help to know that we are absolutely floored by generosity shown to two foreigners that came to Squamish on a mountain bike vacation,” he said.

“We want to give a special shoutout to Jacob and Kim Lagercrantz for letting two strangers stay with them, then doing everything they possibly could to help us find our giant furry family member.  This town and it’s people are top notch and will forever have our thanks and our hearts!”
