Here is your chance to become one of the community’s brave heart.

The Squamish Fire Rescue is currently looking for volunteer firefighters, a process that begins in the fall every year.

District spokesperson Rachel Boguski said applications will be accepted until Friday, October 12 at 4:30 p.m.

The recruitment period is approximately five months from January to May and a three year commitment is required.

All training and materials are provided and there is no cost to the recruit.

A recruitment session will be held at the Squamish Fire Rescue annual open house on Sunday, September 30 at 3:30 p.m. at the Alex Munro Firehall in Valleycliffe.

The number of recruits can vary each season depending but averages between 10 and 12.

Applications are available at Hall 2, 40439 Tantalus Road or online at https://squamish.ca/recruitment .
