The police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed an assault in downtown Squamish that left a woman with serious injuries.
After being treated at the Squamish General Hospital, the woman was transferred to a Vancouver hospital and is being treated for serious injuries resulting from a confrontation outside the dollar store in Downtown Squamish.
Police were called to the local Dollar Tree on Winnipeg Street on Monday, October 15, at approximately 3 pm after it received reports of a confrontation between the man and a woman.
Several witnesses were spoken to on scene but the details of how the incident unfolded are still unclear.
What police do know at this point is an argument started between a man and a woman and it escalated into a physical fight between the two.
The Sea to Sky General Investigation Section has taken over the investigation and are asking any witnesses or those with knowledge of the event to contact the primary investigator, Constable Andrew Robinson at 604-892-6132.
