The Howe Sound Women’s Centre Society has hired Ashley Oakes as the new Executive Director.
Oakes will officially begin her new role with the Howe Sound Women’s Centre on December 3, 2018.
Oakes has also been the Foundation Manager for Squamish Community Foundation for the past 2 years.
“We are so pleased to have Ashley step into the role of Executive Director of our Society,” says Jessie Cameron, President of HSWC’s Board of Directors.
Oaks has been involved in leadership roles in the non-profit sector for nearly 12 years working with a variety of different causes and organizations in BC and Alberta.
A resident of Squamish for the past years, Ashley’s understanding of the needs of vulnerable women in the Sea to Sky Corridor as well as her expertise in fund development, government relations, and communications will provide the needed leadership at the organisation, Cameron added.
“I am honoured to have been selected for this critical role in our community and will strive to lead the organization with an open heart,” said Oaks.
