WCRA receives $985,000 from federal goverment

March 29, 2019 7:35am

West Coast Railway Association has received a $985,000 boost from the Government of Canada.

The funding, given through the Department of Canadian Heritage, was announced by Pamela Goldsmith-Jones, MP for West Vancouver, Sea to Sky Country and Sunshine Coast.

She made the announcement at the railway park on Thursday

The funding will assist the West Coast Railway Association (WCRA) in the purchase and upgrade of four of the Squamish Railway Shop buildings in North Yards – known as the Motive Power 2 buildings.

It will also enable the WCRA to fulfill its ongoing mission of restoring, preserving and exhibiting BC’s Railway Heritage.
