District urges locals to avoid Third Avenue and Vancouver

District of Squamish is urging locals to avoid the area where crews are still fighting a fire that started in the morning in Downtown Squamish.

District said no evacuations are required. The Air Quality at Third Avenue and Vancouver street is being monitored by VCH Health Care officers.

“Continue to avoid area as emergency crews are still on scene fighting the fire,” District said.

District is also talking to VCH about air quality and is advising people to keep windows and doors close to avoid smoke inhalation.
