RCMP Traffic Services officers impounded a luxury vehicle near Porteau Cove for overspeeding.
The high-end vehicle, a 2018 McLaren 720S, was going at 151 km/h in a posted 80 km/h speed zone.
The car is valued at $462,000 and costs over $15,000 a year to insure.
Police say the driver was a novice and officers found evidence that the vehicle had been impounded previously for the same offence.
Traffic services impounded four other vehicles on Saturday, including a motorcycle that was stopped for going at 135 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
The month of May marks the beginning of increased traffic on BC roadways and, with more road users, the potential for an increase in collisions.
To save lives, May is identified as High Risk Driving month and police across BC are conducting enhanced enforcement to educate the driving public and target high risk driving behaviours.
RCMP says there are five easy things all drivers can do to lessen their risk of being involved in a serious crash or worse: 1. Drive defensively; 2. Obey speed limits; 3. Wear seatbelts; 4. Drive sober; and 5. Drive free of distractions.

A few dents and scratches during loading and unloading perhaps!??
