Squamish council will soon be looking at rezoning application for a six-storey building on 38108 Cleveland Avenue, across from the Corsa bike shop in Downtown Squamish.
A West Vancouver based development company has applied for a rezoning application that would allow the developer a mixed-use building with commercial on ground floor, offices on second floor, and residential on third to six floors.
The district has yet to set a date for public hearing for the project.
On its website, the developer, Lexi Development is advertising the building as a “collection of condominiums and live/work homes positing in the heart of Downtown Squamish. Contemporary West Coast architecture complements the surrounding environment, while interior offers a stylish and purposeful canvas for modern lives.”
There has been a flurry of development activity in Downtown Squamish, with residential apartments proposed and underway on Cleveland Avenue, Loggers Lane and Second Avenue.
The district has also received a Development Permit application for a six-storey mixed-use development on Second Avenue in Downtown Squamish.
That building will be located at 1360 Victoria Street, at the corner of Second Avenue and Victoria Street. The lot is right across from the Squamish Hotel, behind the medical building in Downtown Squamish.
The Aeagan will be a mixed-use development with 32 residential units and 7,310 square feet of commercial space.
Construction is also underway on Amaji, a 36-apartment mixed-use development with commercial on street level. The district has received a development permit application for a two-building mixed-use development on 37781 Cleveland Avenue.
The proposed development offers four residential units consisting of 45 per cent of the gross floor area. The remaining 55 per cent is allocated to a diverse range of employment spaces, according to the information provided to the district.
