Meth found on bench near Squamish Elementary School

Squamish RCMP says three baggies of suspected methamphetamine were turned over to the police on June 29th. RCMP.

They were located on a bench near Squamish Elementary School. Police attended the area where the drugs were reportedly found and no further suspected drugs or paraphernalia was located.

Police is asking the public to notify the police immediately if drugs are found.

Stolen ID’s used for bike theft 

On July 4th, two men rented a bike from a local bike shop but failed to return it. Police later found the identification used to rent the bicycle was also stolen. The bike was valued at $10,000. The stolen identification has been re-united with its rightful owner. 

Beerfest, ticket required

As preparations were underway for the Squamish Beer festival, on July 5th, Squamish RCMP were requested to attend O’Siyam Pavilion Park as some people were getting a head start on non-sanctioned beer sampling. All individuals were dispersed from the area and no further calls were received.

Furry Creek: vehicle stolen and recovered

Police say a late 90’s Honda Civic was stolen from an open complex parking lot in Furry Creek. The vehicle was recovered on July 8th by Vancouver Police located in the 1600 block of Franklin Street, Vancouver. Police would like to remind everyone to ensure all valuables are removed from your vehicles and that nothing is left in plain sight and that all doors and windows are secure.
