DOS warns of man posing as district employee in Valleycliffe

August 7, 2019 9:59am

The District of Squamish is warning residents of an imposter posing as district employees.

District had received a few reports from Valleycliffe where homeowners have been contacted by an individual requesting to test their water.

The district said it is not in any way related to the District of Squamish. The district isn’t undertaking any water testing in any of the neighbourhoods. District of Squamish staff always show identification.

District is urging citizens to exercise due diligence before allowing anyone to enter the home, and to be careful to not provide information to callers as to when you may be home or away from your home.

If you have any concerns, make a report to the RCMP non-emergency line at 604.892.6100.
