Whistler resident Suzanne Robson leapt off her couch when she discovered she had won $500,000 by matching all four Extra numbers on her Lotto 6/49 ticket from the August 14, 2019 draw.
“We were sitting at home and I got a notification on my PlayNow.com account that I had won $500,000 playing the Extra. I jumped up off my couch and shared it with my husband right away,” she said.
Robson and her husband were excited to celebrate this life-changing win right away.
“My husband and I bought a fancy bottle of wine to celebrate,” said Robson. “But to be honest, it didn’t taste that much different than the wine we usually buy!”
The couple has called Whistler home for 30 years and are avid skiers, and hope that this money will contribute to them being able to enjoy an early retirement, where they can ski, travel and maybe even buy an RV for new adventures and experiences.
“We’re thinking of buying an RV, but we haven’t made any plans yet,” said Robson. “I work part-time and my husband still works as well, but maybe this means we can retire a little early.”
