Sea to Sky Gondola is starting two special programs for school-aged children based out of the basecamp this fall while work continues on reinstating the gondola.
These two programs, called Junior Rangers and Junior Engineers, will introduce students to the local flora and fauna. Trails between the Stawamus Chief and Shannon Falls will be used for the program.
Using the Basecamp as a launching point, the junior program will introduce students to the world of seasonal changes and the needs of plants and animals. Students will explore local wildlife biodiversity, adaptability and the importance of sharing ecological spaces with animals.
Programs will have classes exploring Shannon Falls and other areas near the Sea to Sky Gondola Base.
