Special weather statement issued for Metro Vancouver

February 23, 2020 4:03pm

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Metro Vancouver.

Gusty northwest winds of 50 to 70 km/h will develop over Metro Vancouver early this evening as a low-pressure system over Vancouver Island moves into the interior.

Winds will subside overnight as the system moves away.

The special weather statement has been issued for the North Shore, Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, as well as Surrey, Langley, Richmond, Coquitlam, and Maple Ridge.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.

To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
