Child care is also available for children aged 0 to 5.
Staff report
April 6, 2020 10:29am

Essential service providers who are unable to make child care arrangements for their school-going children can contact the Sea to Sky school district.

SD 48 will organize school-based child care during the day for children of essential service providers.

The workers can contact Linda English at LEnglish@sd48.bc.ca

Essential service workers will be asked about their occupation, name, age, and school and teacher of their children.

They will also be asked for information on specific hours and days they need support and any unique needs.

The provincial government has established two tiers to categorize the workers:

Tier 1 is healthcare workers and emergency responders, and Tier 2 is workers who support vulnerable populations, that is social workers, income assistance workers and those who support key supply chain functions, such as grocery store worker and warehouse workers.

Meanwhile, the Sea to Sky Child Care Resource and Referral office is coordinating referrals and child care placements for essential service providers whose kids are in the age 0-5.

Intake is happening now, and essential service providers can contact Lisa McIntosh at 604 892 5796, ext 228.
