A hotel in Downtown Squamish has applied for a development permit for a new patio.

Crash Hotel on Cleveland Avenue has applied for a permit to install a new patio along the sidewalks of Victoria and Cleveland Avenue.

Crash Hotel also plans to add a new overhead and roll-up doors along the façade.

Chad Hubbs, the hotel manager, says the patio is part of a plan to revitalize the old pub and gaming lounge.

Along with a patio, the hotel also plans to add doors on Victoria Avenue, and a new facade with windows on Cleveland Avenue at the entrance.

Hubbs says he isn’t sure at this point on the number of patio seats the hotel would be able to accommodate.

Last year, the hotel completely renovated its pub, The Goat, and refurbished the historic Chieftain sign.

Hubbs says the hotel is in the approval process with the district and would start construction on the patio once it is safe to do so. “I cannot be more specific but the times are very much unpredictable,” he says.

Crash Hotel Squamish is the second Crash Hotel brand in Canada after Edmonton and is aimed at travelers looking for hip designs and social experience.
