An eagle that was rescued by Conservation Officer Service in the Sea to Sky area earlier this year was released into the wild today.
The eagle was found suffering from severe trauma near Squamish, although the source of its injuries remains unknown.
The eagle was released back to the skies after a nine-week recovery at the OWL Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society.
It was released back from the same location it was found, although Conservation Officer Service didn’t specify the location.
Another eagle was released back in the wild after a full recovery from lead poisoning in Nelson.
Nelson Conservation Service Officers witnessed the female Golden Eagle being released back into the wild along the shores of Kootenay Lake.
The poisoned eagle was found by Good Samaritans along the highway, who brought it to the Nelson Animal Hospital.
Shortly after flying away, the eagle was reunited with another eagle that could be its mate, Conservation Officer Service said.
